Android 11 seems to be released on August of this year. Later all the OEMs start rolling out the new experience. But there is no roadmap to know when it is ready to each manufactures and all users.
New conversation segment on Notification
It is a change to the notification area not just conversation part. Notification adds a new part in conversation where all the messages ends up.What ever it is Whatsapp, instagrame, SMS anything is shows up rihgt here. And this would be on not top of all notification.
Even we can add priorities to the conversations. Which can break do not disturb state of the device. Message count, name and details are more clear to make it read easy and less pain-full even for touch interface.
Media control on quick notification
It was quite annoying that we need to swipe twice to change song while we are reading an article or texting with friends. Now media control is moved to quick access. one swipe down and a touch would change the song. Media control is persistent on the quick notification panel. most importantly we can access any media player from here just by swiping. Even further one more drop down would give more control over media even the output speaker control, YES we can select output speaker from notification panel, whether it is headphone, bluetooth , big set of headphone whatever.
Chat Bubble
Android 11 is changed conversation and notification menus a lot thats why the chat bubble comes to main stream in this build. previously which is a part of developer mode. It would work just like Facebook chat head. One small bubble would float around all screen. On tap it would expand as a overlay. Pretty nice feature. actually I am using chat head pretty serious amount of time.
Power menu control
Power menu is the next major change. The menu have a lot more activities to do now. The 3 buttons or power are moved up to a horizontal placement. The rest of the space is dedicated to IoT. Google Home and smart controls can be added here. User can also add which all appliances need to be displayed and controlled from here. Gpay also previewed on power menu.
Recentes
Recents tap does not undergone much changes but es it is changed a little bit. Screenshot is added to the recents menu. Actually it took the screenshot of app in focus not the exact screen of what it shows the time of taping the button. We can undo the accidentally cleared application just by swiping down immediatly
Application suggestion is removed and few application icon on recents are also removed. Search elements on the screen is also added to the recents. On tap it highlights some suggestions we can modify and select other. Select text of image provide direct Google search from recents view. new share button gives makes it easier to share the screen of an application. Neglecting the headache of taking screenshot and selecting it again from share app or from gallery.
Notification History
Now we no need ot worry about the accidental swipe on notifications. We can have a look back to the same in notification history. From settings or right from the notification panel we can have the history option.
Expire Permissions
Other piece of evidence to show user is in control of smartphone. Permission of apps shall get expired as they are not used. Which provides extra security on user data that the apps which are not used for 2 or 6 months were not able to access the hardware without providing permission again. Good tweak. Thumbs up for that.
USB tethering
Now device can be connected to via USB cable and internet can be shared to laptop PC or any device. Android device would act a MODEM for the othre device. This option can be enable from wireless and tethering.
Native screen recorder
Screen recorder is add to the main stream. Previously it is in developer option.
Sound
It is sound now not volume. Changed menu name to sound and we can select sound output device from sound menu.
Suggestion
We can enable this by long tap on home screen. Which adds most used app to the home screen app list as one the application is moved from the list.
Customisation screen
Not a big change Android 11 is providing variety of customisation options to the user this time. Clock theme as prominent.
Wireless ADB
Most of the users are not interested in this. but for other. there is no need of start and stop the server to get the wireless ADB now. Android 11 is comes with wireless ADB
